A letter from the President:
Being active within the school community was always something that I wanted to be a part of. The PTA has always been an organization that can change the overall culture of school, works hand and hand with not only the administration but with the wonderful teachers and staff that bring Wanaque School to life every day of the school year. Through the course of ten (10) years serving on the PTA we are proud of what this organization has accomplished, but those successes have a direct link to the wonderful families that supported and have volunteered in the many activities within the PTA.
I would like to take a few minutes now to thank all the PTA members who helped volunteer on the PTA for the past ten (10) years: you are truly wonderful and selfless people, who helped to bring smiles to all the children of Wanaque School. What we have accomplished in the past ten (10) years is truly extraordinary. It has been an honor and privilege to watch this PTA grow throughout those years. Your work and involvement made Wanaque School a better place, a place of active learning and a place where children can make memories.
Our PTA and the Wanaque School administration and its staff have always had a shared vision in the direction of our school community and has allowed so many wonderful events to take place within the Wanaque School. Saying “Thank You” seems underwhelming to say the least. I would be remised if we didn’t mention our wonderful teachers and staff that have spent countless hours helping, and supporting our PTA. Our teachers are the inspiration to our children and without their involvement and support our PTA would not be successful. You are all amazing to work with and I have made some wonderful friendships throughout the years and will miss seeing all of you daily.
Our secretaries have been incredible to work with and are truly the backbone of Wanaque School. On a personal note, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Danielle Cierech. You are the face of Wanaque School and have helped this organization in so many ways and have helped me navigate through all our events throughout the years. You have truly been my compass and with that said I have gained a lifelong friend and a sister all in one.
There are so many people that have helped the Wanaque School PTA through the course of our ten (10) years of involvement, but Leane Tully has been by our side throughout. She served as the PTA President for 8 years and is currently our Vice President. It has been an honor to work side by side with her over the years on the PTA. and she has always helped to grow this organization to where it is today. I would not have wanted to do this without her and for that I have made a lifelong friend.
With most organizations like the Wanaque School PTA, you want it to be healthier, more involvement, more members, and have more events. You want it to be better from year to year. I can honestly say that this PTA has accomplished that. Each year this group had the foresight to plan for the future and accomplish new and exciting events for our wonderful school community. We are so excited for the future of the Wanaque School PTA. We are confident that they will bring this organization to new heights with fresh ideas and guide the PTA into the future with the guidance and leadership of Abby Alya our new President. She will have an executive board of fantastic people helping and directing the PTA with Meliisa Harris Vice President, and Mia Raymoundo Recording Secretary. I have no doubt you will do amazing things for all the children at Wanaque School. I must not forget to mention our existing board members, Lisa Bellante Corresponding Secretary and Lisa Cammilleri Tresure. They are very lucky to have you all. I’m excited to see all the wonderful things the PTA will accomplish in the years to come.
Thank you,
Tracy Purcella
