Dear Parents/Guardians,
Wow…..May already! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Riccardelli and Mr. Henry for a wonderful job coordinating the Art and Science Fair. Congratulations to you both for a job well done. Thank you students for the great work you did for these two shows. You are all to be congratulated for your spectacular projects. Your hard work was noted by parents, teachers and peers. I would also like to thank the Kindergarten teachers for a job well done during Kindergarten Orientation. Last but not least, a big thank you to our PTA for always being so helpful and supportive.
May is filled with all sorts of activities. We start off the month with NJASK testing for grades 3 through 6. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have students arrive on time during testing. Testing will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. Students arriving late to school will not be allowed to take the tests with their class. Tests will be administered to them during the scheduled make-up testing. It is also important that students get enough rest during their week of testing. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Moving right along toward the middle of May, we can look forward to our 8th graders going on their annual 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. This 3 day trip is enjoyed by students and chaperones alike. It is so hard to believe that the 8th graders will be moving on to High School in the fall. How quickly these elementary school years go by.
During the last week of May our 2nd graders will be taking Terra Nova testing. Here again, please make sure your children are well rested and arrive to school on time.
I would also like to touch briefly on the district’s policy of warm weather clothing. Please check your parent handbooks as to proper clothing students should be wearing. No flip-flops are to be worn. All shoes must have a back to them. Tank tops should have at least a 2” strap. See through tops or tops with derogatory sayings are also not allowed. The length of shorts should not be shorter than 2” above the knee. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events.
Sincerely,
Celia Pino-Morales
Principal
